Sonny Nguyen, a USC graduate, helped cofound with his brothers a nonprofit organization recognized as the Vietnamese Youth Foundation which continues to operate in Orange County. For the past 20 years through the VN Youth Foundation, Sonny and his brothers have served the Vietnamese community through various programs such as the Mind & Body Martial Arts Center, VN Youth Radio, Multicultural Health and Prevention Care Center (MHPCC), and the Community Education Center.
Professionally Sonny has served in different positions such as Sales, Executive Management, and Corporate Finance at Bank of America for over 10 years.
In 2011 Sonny along with his brothers and friends opened a small coffee and tea house named 7 Leaves Cafe in the city of Garden Grove-Little Saigon area. They’ve been compared as being the “Asian Starbucks” or the “In N Out” of refreshments. Today they have over 650 team members at 14 stores spread across Orange County with 30 expecting to be open by the end of 2019, and 200 stores by 2028! 7 Leaves has been a vehicle for their family to drive positive impacts to local communities. Some of their activities include offering free printing for anyone with financial struggles, creating small community libraries within their cafés where anyone can donate books to share, conduct fundraising activities with local schools and nonprofit organizations, etc…
But his most rewarding achievements have come from having a happy family of two beautiful boys and a loving and supportive wife. Today his interest lies in meeting new friends and continuing to make positive impacts in local communities while balancing time with family.
